material explorations
studies examining texture and touch

My early weaving experiments began in the kitchen, using pasta and homemade playdough. I cooked and kneaded, grated and baked to achieve unusual shapes and wiggly lines. Topia builds from these early kitchen experiments by exploring shape and texture to mitigate stress and improve well-being. Sculptural surfaces invite you to touch nubby surfaces and trace meandering lines on the surface of the cloth.
